At the final round of Tasman Racing League's Season 3 competition in the Road, Oval, and Formula series this week, the league announced the chassis which will be used for Season 4.

In the Road Series, the popular GT3/TCR multiclass format will return for a second season. The return of GT3s was a formality, as the class has been used in every single Road Series event since Season 0 and will likely remain on track for the foreseeable future. After a series of early incidents with GT3s, attendance and approval ratings of the TCR continued to climb throughout the season, and the touring cars were quickly renewed for a second season. David Webb will look to defend his newly won GT3 title from the likes of past champion Lewis Buhagiar, along with Max Forgione, Drew Collins, Jeremey Newton, Kyle Douglass, and a slew of other drivers hungry for their first title. Terry Visser looked unstoppable for much of the inaugural season of TCR action, but Zac Vlietstra, Damian Coates, Patrick Robinson, and possibly even GT3 regulars Buhagiar and Nicholas Crawford will be looking to unseat him next season.

After a close competition with the 1987 NASCAR and the incumbent Next Gen Cup car, the Oval Series announced the NASCAR Truck Series as the chassis for Season 4. This marks a return to the chassis which was used in Seasons 0 and 1, and one which many TRL drivers cite as their favorite on ovals. David Webb secured the oval series title to match his road series one using the Next Gen car, but it remains to be seen how he will adapt to the more traditional Truck Series car. Buhagiar, Visser, Crawford, and Collins will be in pursuit, but perhaps no driver stands to gain more from this switch than Lukas Blake, who won the Season 0 and Season 1 championships in the truck but has struggled to find the same pace in other cars. Many drivers and teams are also expected to make the switch to the newly available Ram body, with the most notable switch so far being the five-car Right Rear Racing operation.

Finally, the Formula Series has announced a switch to the IL-15 platform, along with an increased focus on road course races, for Season 4. This marks a return to the Indy Lights platform after a one-season run in Super Formula Lights, which were well-liked on the road courses but often made overtaking difficult on the oval tracks. Drew Collins will look to defend a dominant championship win over Matt Serle, Jeremy Newton, John Bates, and Nicholas Heath. Serle especially will be one to watch, given that he won the Season 1 title driving the IL-15.
